Andrea Kalan’s Farewell - Alumni Networking24.02.2010

Around 60 alumni of various programs (TEA/PIE, JFDP, FLEX, Muskie, UGRAD) gathered together at the US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission's residence for Andrea Kalan's (IREX Regional Country Director) farewell and an alumni networking event. US Embassy Public Affairs Section representatives as well as Ministry of Education representative Gulu Novruzov expressed their gratitude to Andrea Kalan for her tremendous input into the US educated alumni community development between 2007 and 2010. At the event, Sarah Hennessey from the IREX DC Office was introduced as the new IREX Country Director. Alumni took turns giving speeches thanking Andrea, and of course could not let her leave the country without some small souvenirs. A short movie on alumni activities held during Andrea's administration was shown to the entire audience. Overall the event was a great networking opportunity. Leaving the residence, alumni repeated in unison: "Andrea, you will be missed..."
