Alumni Examine The Road16.11.2009

The ECA Alumni Book Club met on Sunday, November 15, at Ali and Nino Cafe to discuss Cormac McCarthy's The Road (2006).  The novel was controversial among alumni, with several of the alumni strongly disliking McCarthy's style and others liking the book intensely.  The discussion focused on the religious symbolism throughout the book as well as on the question of human nature and how human beings act in times of intense difficulty.
